Gaming should be taken seriously.  I mean, if people take throwing a baseball and hitting it with a stick seriously, why shouldn’t a person’s dream to become a professional gamer, be the same as wanting to become a professional baseball player, or a doctor, or a teacher?  If anything, it is a more challenging path because no one believes in it.  

It seems like the only professions that are socially accepted are the ones that benefit someone else. 

I think there is a lot more involved in being good at gaming than meets the eye.  There is so much to learn, and for the most part, there is no one, and no school there to teach it to you.  It’s all about self motivation and self improvement.  And on top of that, you have the whole world and your parents looking down on you for it.  It’s tough, and I admire those who are pursuing a profession that seems ridiculous to the average person.

Anyone on tumblr going to the SSF4 Tournament this Friday at Game Kingdom in Flushing Mall?  It looks like a pretty small event, but I’m excited that there’s even a tournament happening in the short time while here visiting fam. : b
